UCF Libraries - Scholarly Communication Lily Flick & Sarah Norris June 9, 2016 Using SHERPA RoMEO: Finding policies for self-archiving articles
2
How does it apply to you? ▫ You want to investigate copyright policies and Open Access options for journals before submitting your article to the publisher. ▫ You also want to put your published articles on your own website or in STARS (the UCF Libraries Institutional Repository) and SelectedWorks. ▫ Others ask you about journal policies, or they’re curious if they can upload copies of their published articles to their personal websites, repositories, or course websites (i.e., Canvas). If the article is yours, can’t you do what you want with it? ▫ Not necessarily. ▫ Copyright can be transferred with the publisher agreement. ▫ Complex situations: conditions.
