RDM and the research lifecycle

Create a DMP to plan how data will be created, captured, stored and accessed throughout its lifecycle. UoB Help: Research Data Service Create data or receive data from a third party, ensuring relevant permissions are in place to use and publish. UoB Help: RED (Contracts and Governance) Create metadata alongside data generated, including appropriate standards where available, to ensure you and others can understand the data. UoB Help: Research Data Service Store research data securely and backup to a robust storage facility, ideally the Research Data Storage Facility (RDSF). UoB Help: ACRC (for RDSF) Zonal IT: for School/Faculty level storage solutions Research Data Service (storage advice) Decide what data needs to be kept, in accordance with funder and publisher policies and legal requirements. UoB Help: Research Data Service RED Governance (legal retention requirements) Deposit data in a suitable repository or data centre and obtain a DOI. Add a statement about how to access your data to your publication UoB Help: Research Data Service OA Support Ensure data is accessible to others, whether through open publication or robust access controls.
