For example, lots of people are scared of spiders, snakes, heights and flying, but only a few are scared of buttons, beards and handwriting. How does this challenge the behaviourist explanation of phobias? Look up the term ‘genetic preparedness’ to include in your answer

She recently tried to walk to the front gate, but started to have a panic attack and had to go back inside Develop a 10 stage hierarchy of anxiety provoking situations that could be used to desensitise Edna’s phobia and explain how, if you were her therapist, you would work through the stages with her

6 Edna asks you what the benefits and disadvantages are of going through systematic desensitisation.
