How we experience condemnation: Christianity as a list of “shoulds” and “musts” Not feeling good enough for God Not feeling free or forgiven Suspect God doesn’t love or accept you

John 3:16-21 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

“God did not send His son to condemn the world”.

But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.

Who is God ? What is He like? Loving and compassionate Understands what it is like to be human Slow to anger Wants to be with you Is committed to seeing you restored and whole

You are Good God made you in His image and your worth is constant, no matter what you do or do not do.

Condemnation has no place in the Church Trust the Holy Spirit is active in the lives of those who believe in Jesus. Stand along side each other and journey together.

The cross is not about condemnation, guilt, trying harder, shame or being “bad”. Instead it is about love. God loves us all so much he does not want to lose one of us.

Romans 7:21- 8: So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.

24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature[d] a slave to the law of sin.

8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death.

Walk in Grace Galations 5:4 You who are trying to be justified by the law, have been alienated from Christ: you have fallen away from grace.
