Straen Arholiadau / Exam Stress A little bit of stress can be helpful in focussing the mind, but too much can have the opposite effect. It is important to manage stress for your well-being, as well as to increase your chances of exam success. There are steps you can take to help you cope. Gall ychydig o straen eich helpu i ganolbwyntio, ond gall gormod gael effaith groes i hynny. Er eich lles, ac i wella’ch siawns o lwyddo mewn arholiad, mae’n bwysig rheoli straen. Mae yna gamau y gallwch eu cymryd i’ch helpu i ymdopi.

Ymdopi â Straen Arholiadau Coping with Exam Stress Get plenty of sleep – this may mean curtailing some activities and avoiding late night revision sessions. Look after yourself – make sure that you are eating well and taking regular exercise. Schedule regular breaks and rewards – long periods of revision are tiring and ineffective. Make sure to take breaks and give yourself something to look forward to. Gofalwch eich bod yn cael digon o gwsg – gall hyn olygu cymryd rhan mewn llai o weithgareddau a pheidio ag adolygu’n hwyr gyda’r nos. Edrychwch ar ôl eich hun – gofalwch eich bod yn bwyta’n iach ac yn gwneud ymarfer corff yn rheolaidd. Trefnwch eich bod yn cael egwyl a gwobr yn rheolaidd – mae adolygu am gyfnodau maith yn flinedig ac yn aneffeithiol. Cofiwch gymryd egwyl a gofalwch fod gennych rywbeth i edrych ymlaen ato.

Paratoi at Arholiadau Preparing for Exams Set revision goals. Decide on what you will revise during each session. Use what works for you. Some people prefer mind maps and similar, others may prefer blocks of text. Knowing your learning preference can help you revise effectively. Break up long days into shorter, achievable revision periods. Use practice papers to test yourself. Form a study group or look to revise with a friend. Contact the Learning Centre for revision advice, or to look at available resources. Pennwch dargedau adolygu. Penderfynwch beth fyddwch yn ei adolygu ym mhob sesiwn. Defnyddiwch beth bynnag sy’n gweithio i chi. Mae’n well gan rai fapiau meddwl neu ddulliau tebyg, ac mae’n well gan eraill flociau o destun. Gall gwybod sut rydych yn dysgu orau eich helpu i adolygu’n effeithiol. Rhannwch ddyddiau hir yn gyfnodau adolygu llai a chyraeddadwy. Defnyddiwch bapurau ymarfer i brofi’ch hun. Ffurfiwch grŵp astudio neu trefnwch adolygu gyda ffrind. Cysylltwch â’r Ganolfan Ddysgu i gael cyngor ar adolygu, neu edrychwch ar adnoddau sydd ar gael.

Adolygu at Arholiadau / Exam Revision Effective revision is an active process. While you will need to memorise facts, you also need to be able to access and use the information. Active revision is concerned with digesting and understanding information, as opposed to reading notes and copying material. Instead of attempting to memorise information, revision should focus on understanding and evaluating information. Mae adolygu effeithiol yn broses weithredol. Yn ogystal â chofio ffeithiau, bydd gofyn i chi allu cael gafael ar y wybodaeth a’i defnyddio. Yn hytrach na darllen a chopïo deunydd, mae adolygu effeithiol yn golygu dirnad a deall gwybodaeth. Yn lle ceisio cofio gwybodaeth, dylech ganolbwyntio ar ddeall a phennu gwerth gwybodaeth wrth adolygu.

Yn ystod Arholiadau / During Exams Read through the whole paper before you begin to write. Highlight or underline the key words or points in each question. Read all parts of a question before beginning to answer. Make sure that you address each point raised. Give the most time to questions which carry the most marks. If you are given a choice of questions or essays, read through all options carefully before making your decision. For an essay-based paper, it is important to create an essay plan before beginning to answer the question. This is not time wasted and will ensure you answer the question to the best of your abilities. Try not to get stuck on a question you cannot answer. Move on with the intention of coming back to it later. Cyn dechrau ysgrifennu, darllenwch y papur i gyd. Amlygwch neu danlinellwch y geiriau neu’r pwyntiau pwysig ym mhob cwestiwn. Cyn dechrau ateb, darllenwch bob rhan o’r cwestiwn. Gwnewch yn siŵr eich bod yn ymdrin â phob pwynt a nodir. Treuliwch fwy o amser yn ateb cwestiynau sy’n cynnwys y mwyaf o farciau. Os cewch ddewis o gwestiynau neu draethodau, darllenwch yr holl opsiynau’n ofalus cyn penderfynu. Yn achos papur sy’n cynnwys traethawd, mae’n bwysig gwneud cynllun o’r traethawd cyn dechrau ateb y cwestiwn. Dydi hyn ddim yn wastraff amser a bydd yn sicrhau eich bod yn ateb y cwestiwn orau y gallwch. Ceisiwch beidio ag ymdroi gyda chwestiwn nad ydych yn gallu ei ateb. Ewch yn eich blaen a dewch yn ôl ato yn nes ymlaen.
