4. Overview Medicinal chemistry was defined by IUPAC specified commission as “it concerns the discovery, the development, the identification and the interpretation of the mode of action of biologically active compounds at the molecular level”.

5. Course Description ….covers the molecular basis of action, metabolism and toxicity of drugs …provides an orientation to medicinally important nuclei and their nomenclature and principles of drug discovery and development. …relationship between molecular structure and biological action of drugs.
