2. Area of Focus The purpose of this study is to help three children get a quality education and enjoy a social life that they are not getting from their home-schooling.

3. Background Information My next door neighbor home schools her three children and does not let them socialize much with other children. After asking my neighbor about why she chose for her children to attend home school, she advised they can work at their own pace without feeling rushed to complete assignments. She also thinks that homeschooling children are less likely to be confronted with violence or drug abuse and they don’t get exposed to bullies, peer pressure, or feel like they in competition with someone else.

4. Explanation of Problem  In this research the parent admits that she is inexperienced and not able to successfully grab the children attention because of the lack of focus in the home environment.  The children feels they should be able to attend a public school.

5. Reason of Interest I want to implement a change Get an improvement from the children academically Find out which one is better home-school or public school. I see children who want to learn and I am very passionate about children education because I feel that Education is very valuable.

6. Prior Interventions I have taken the children out on social settings. I have bought them books and provided technology I have discussed this matter with my son teacher and she has provided me with material to take home to them and they advised me that they did not understand the information. I have asked the mother to let the children attend public school.

7. Participant Description 9-year-old, 11 years of age, 14 year-old (mother not pictured) The children are not allowed to mingle with other children in the community. The children are behind in subjects that they should understand The children are always depressed, sad and they are not happy with life.

8. Ethics Protection and Consent Protecting the study participants and doing no harm to the children will be my main goal. I will also show respect to their parent and has received consent of approval on this matter. Bias My planned measures is to ensure the study yields unbiased results and to treat all participants who are involved in this research with respect and accept their willingness to share with me their thoughts and ideas.

9. Intervention My Plan is to involve the children in a six week after school program with educational materials and involve them around other children for social interaction to see if there is a change in their behavior. It will consist of group projects, technology and assessments. I will collect data in journals and measure progress with assessments.

10. Intervention – Literature Review My literature review will be very helpful to my research because I have taken down information from other teachers and authors that have been already involve in the research of working with students who have been home schooled. Research shows that home schooled children do better in college than kids who went to public schools because of their disciplined mind. Research shows the minds of the students who attended public schools offer something more valuable in life such as in-dependency, act more social, and are more accepting to others.

11. Research Questions Why do families choose homeschooling? Does home-schooling affect social interactions for children? Can home-schooling produce a good learning environment for children? What matters the most when it comes to a child getting a good education?
