3 Brent 2015-2020 Strategic Plan Vision Brent will become a highly effective, inclusive, field experience school where all students grow and advance through productive struggle and a whole-child approach that promotes academic, social, and emotional development in order to produce confident, self-reliant, and self-motivated students ready for any opportunity. 3

4 Gaps to Greatness: Brent’s Challenges – No consistent intervention for general academic support. – Behavior was the #1 challenge identified by teachers; followed by insufficient time. – No formal enrichment program for students ready for additional challenges; no curricular enhancements or consistent plan. 4

Brain Block (K-2) Teacher Partner Program (mainly 3 rd -5 th ) – Behavior was the #1 challenge identified by teachers; followed by insufficient time Behavior Tech Full-Time Social Worker Reduced Suspensions from 15 to 8 this year – No formal enrichment program for students ready for additional challenges; no curricular enhancements or consistent plan. Brain Block Literacy Enrichment Group (2 nd graders) Literacy Enrichment Group (4 th -5 th ) Advanced Math Program (3 rd -5 th ) 6 th Grade Math 5
