2 ON Now, you! The dog is ON the couch. The pencil is ON the book.
TEACHER: Ask students to observe the picture. Elicit vocabulary (dog, couch). Ask “Where’s the dog?” Show the answer on the slide “The dog is on the couch.”, emphasizing the preposition ON. Ask them to read the sentence after Now, you! and use their own material to show what’s written in the sentence. Check the students’ work by asking a student to come to the front and show what he/she did. The pencil is ON the book.

3 IN Now, you! The balls are IN the box.
TEACHER: See slide #2. Call students’ attention to the use of are in the plural form. The eraser is IN the pencil case.

4 The baby is UNDER the table.
Now, you! TEACHER: See slide #2. The pen is UNDER the book.

5 The cat is NEXT TO the rabbit.
Now, you! The pencil sharpener is NEXT TO the eraser. TEACHER: See slide #2.

6 ACROSS FROM Now, you! Mary is ACROSS FROM Bob.
The students are ACROSS FROM the teacher. TEACHER: Show students the picture and tell them the name of the girl is Mary and the name of the boy is Bob. Ask “Where’s Mary?” Accept students’ answers even in L1. Proceed with the slide presentation and show the correct answer, emphasizing across from. Ask them to do what is written in the sentence. Probably they’ll notice that they already are across from you.

7 The cat is BETWEEN the dogs.
Now, you! The eraser is BETWEEN the pen and the pencil. TEACHER: See slide #2.

8 NOW, ANSWER! Where’s the cat?
TEACHER: Instruct students to answer the questions according to the picture. Wait a while and show them the correct answer. This can be a gamelike activity: divide the class into two groups, ask them to answer the questions on a piece of paper and then check which group gets more correct answers.

9 NOW, ANSWER! Where’s the cat? The cat is UNDER the table.

10 NOW, ANSWER! Where’s the apple?
TEACHER: See slide #8. Call students’ attention that two answers are possible here.

20 Memory Game TEACHER: Teach any unknown vocabulary and elicit the words they know. Ask your students if they have a good memory. Ask them to look at the picture for one minute and try to memorize where the things are. Give prompts: the cat, the ball, the lamp, the clock, the rug, etc.

21 It’s next to the armchair.
Memory Game Where’s the cat? It’s next to the armchair. TEACHER: Show the students the first picture and, after they’ve answered it, show them the correct answer. Do the same with the other questions. You can opt on having a game with this activity as well.
