2. Managing Your Time Good time management is essential. If you are starting a course for the first time you will have to consider how you are going to fit it in, and it may be necessary to sacrifice some other activities. In addition you will probably need to review your plans on an ongoing basis in order to allow time for specific tasks such as assignments and to accommodate other commitments that you might have.

3. How much time do you need? This is always a difficult question to answer as students differ so much from each other. A number of factors may influence your rate of progress: how tired you are; how familiar you are with the topic already; or how difficult the concepts are. Different students have different ways of working, and if you are very meticulous, spending a lot of time reading material carefully, taking notes and revising as you go, it is bound to take you longer than if you just skim through. The end result however, will be a far better grasp of the material and you will save time in the long run when it comes to writing assignments and revising for exams.
