6 RESOURCES DIRECTORATE ICT & E-GOVERNMENT Head of Service – Alan Holt ICT strategy and policies Provision of advice to users on process reviews and systems specification Information systems development and project management Information systems support Communications systems specification, procurement and support ICT training, in partnership with HR function Development of corporate strategy to drive the implementation of E- Government, e-Commerce and E-democracy and comply with the Government’s modernising agenda

10 RESOURCES DIRECTORATE KEY ISSUES AND PRIORITIES ASSET MANAGEMENT & PROCUREMENT Ensuring we get best value from our corporate assets – delivery of corporate property strategy Ensuring we get best value from corporate procurement – delivery of corporate procurement and commissioning strategy Developing capital programme appraisal and monitoring techniques and supporting effective project management Overarching view of health and safety risks across Council and development of strategies / policies to mitigate these risks

11 RESOURCES DIRECTORATE KEY ISSUES AND PRIORITIES HUMAN RESOURCES Driving cultural change, for example through personal development planning and through training and development. Modernising employment policies and practices to ensure that the council becomes an “employer of choice”. Supporting modernisation/transformation priorities, by ensuring that all staff are treated with respect and dignity at work. Progression of job evaluation / single status issues Support the achievement of Corporate Investors In People Accreditation.

12 RESOURCES DIRECTORATE KEY ISSUES AND PRIORITIES ICT & E-GOVERNMENT Agree new ICT & E-Government Strategy and lead on / support its implementation – emphasis on the customer interface, supported by efficient and effective systems

13 RESOURCES DIRECTORATE KEY ISSUES AND PRIORITIES LEGAL SERVICES AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE Development of corporate governance framework Development of risk management and internal audit Implementation of actions arising from CAF review to ensure focus on strategic priorities at a local level Evaluation of Electoral Pilot

14 RESOURCES DIRECTORATE KEY ISSUES AND PRIORITIES PENSIONS Implementation of new pensions administration software – consequent improvement in administration efficiency and response times Continuous monitoring of the funding level of the Pension Fund, and actions to address the funding gap Monitoring and development of the investment management structure of the Pension Fund
