7 Globalization Challenges Globalization – cross-location protection Corporate customers face their own challenges of going into new markets and integrating new offices in disparate locati ons, each having their particular safety and security requirements driven by local, national as well as global demands. Greater distances from company headqua rters together with increased employee mobility bring a whole range of complianc e issues which an overall strategy can ease. On the one hand, solutions are needed for remote management capabiliti es and on the other, uniform safety and security measures are necessary for all locations to comply with local and global safety and security standards. Cyber crime – higher IT security The shift from physical to information base d values and online data storage poses new challenges to information security: Statistics show that more than 50 percent of all companies which lose business-critical information are forced to cease operations in less than two years. Information is one of the most valuable assets to a company today, but it is also one of the most vulnerable: Cyber crime can lead to the loss of business productivit y, company reputation and possible loss of revenue, today and in the future. Most of the security breaches within a company have been identified as internal, caused by employees. A firewall cannot protect a company against this threat – this can only be achieved through the adoption of comprehensive Corporate Security Solutions.

8 Competitive pressures – protecting company image and business continuity In an increasingly competitive market, no company can afford damage to their corporate image or prolonged business interruptions. A company must maintain the full confidence of its clients, protect the integrity of customer data and deliver goods and services reliably – while compl ying with legal requirements in all aspects of daily business. At the same time, safety and security solutions have to be cost- and resource-efficient, enabling flexibility and adaptation to ever-changing demands.
