3. When was this place established? The Royal Botanical Gardens is in Melbourne near the city, on the south bank of the Yarra River. It is next to the Shrine of Remembrance. It was established on July 1, 1867 on 94 Acres of land! It also has a brother garden in Cranbourne.

4. What is the place used for? The Royal Botanical Gardens is used for people to enjoy plants and gardens. People also use the gardens to have picnics and catch up with friends. There is a children’s garden where children can learn about special plants and how to grow their own.

5. What are some of its features? The garden has many different and special plants. It also has the National Herbarium of Victoria which does lots of plant research. There is a Children’s Garden that help us kids discover lots of new things about plants and how to look after them. There are two lakes that have lots of ducks and birds and eels and you can go on boat rides.

6. Why is this place important? The Royal Botanical Gardens is important because they have very special plants. They also do research of new plants and grow very uncommon plants and trees. It is also a place were you can meet people, have coffee or go for a jog. It is also a place where you can go to have quiet time. The gardens are beautiful and we are lucky to have it right here in Melbourne.
