5 5 CeRamICa - Ceramics and CRafts Industries’ Increased Cooperation The project within the INTERREG IVC Programme:  Programme’s aim: to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies and contribute to economic modernisation and increased competitiveness of Europe, by:  enabling local and regional actors across the EU to exchange their experiences and knowledge;  matching regions less experienced in a certain policy field with more advanced regions;  ensuring the transfer of good practices into Structural Funds mainstream programmes  by means of interregional cooperation

6 6 What is CeRamICa about?  Main objectives of CeRamICa: To develop local and regional development strategy recommendations and instruments to support and boost the ceramics and small crafts sector in the partners’ regions, offering operative models for all Europe These set of recommendations will be drawn with the aim of preserving and revitalizing this very significant European cultural heritage and thus making this sector a competitive driving force of the local economies.

7 7 What is CeRamICa about? Sub-objectives of CeRamICa:  To exchange and jointly develop innovative tools and approaches that successfully led to creation of new or innovative products, new markets for enterprises in the ceramic and small craft sector, more jobs or better and adapted training, promotion campaigns and investments.  To share, exchange and organise intensified transfers of experiences, knowledge and know-how between partners’ regions on jointly selected best practices and approaches  To exchange and jointly develop specific instruments to assist women and disabled in creating or developing an economic activity in the sector

8 8 What is CeRamICa about?  To promote and valorise the ceramic and small craft sector  To involve throughout the project lifetime relevant local, regional and European stakeholders outside the project for exchange, input and dissemination of project outputs (such as EC, Regional Programmes managers, Managing Authorities, Associations of Craftsmen, Associations of Ceramic Cities, Chambers of commerce, Designers, other Industries representatives such as the Tourism Industry closely linked to the sector)  Local and Regional politicians of the project Political Board to validate policy recommendations for implementation in the regional Structural Funds programmes (Convergence or Competitiveness) and further long lasting cooperation

9 9 What is CeRamICa about?  Main activities of CeRamICa:  Process, financial and content management  Communication & dissemination:project website and identity, 2 brochures & a CD ROM, press conferences and releases  Kick-off conference in Hódmezővásárhely  SWOT & market analyses by each partner  Joint comparative market analysis  12 local / regional stakeholders’ seminars  Regional (partner level) catalogues of best practices

10 10 What is CeRamICa about?  Project level catalogue of best practices  1st draft regional policy recommendations (partner & project level)  1st interregional conference in Vallauris  12 months period interregional meetings for intensified transfer of experiences  2nd draft regional policy recommendations including implementation plans (partner & project level)  2nd interregional conference in Alcobaca  Regional endorsement process of policy recommendations & implementation plans  Project level development policy recommendations  Final conference in Hódmezővásárhely

11 11 Main outputs & results of CeRamICa  Component 1 - Management & coordination  Outputs: -6 Steering Committees -4 Political Board Meetings -a Partnership Agreement -a project management system -a detailed implementation plan -project financial handbook  Results: smoothly, timely and efficiently managed project, reaching its objectives according to plan & budget

12 12 Main outputs & results of CeRamICa  Component 2 - Communication & dissemination  Outputs - a project Publicity & Communication Plan; - 4 European dissemination events (kick off, 2 interregional conferences, final conference); - 17 active participations in other events (in international Ceramics-event organised by Vallauris “La Biennale de la Ceramique contemporaine” in 2009+in 16 other EU project events); - Website (www.ceramicaproject.eu); - 5 European & 12 regional press conferences; - 29 press releases - 2 issues of project brochure; - 1000 of each printed and sent electronically; - CDRom on project main outputs and results

13 13 Main outputs & results of CeRamICa  Component2  Results : -it is expected that 6 articles about the project will appear in the press and 2 project appearances in local/regional radio or television -the website should attract at least 100 visitors per month -350 participants expected in project dissemination events - in addition, local, regional and European stakeholders will be fully aware of the project progress and tools developed by the project partners.

14 14 Main outputs & results of CeRamICa  Component 3 - Exchange of experiences  Outputs: - 2 main local & regional policies addressed by the project: economic development policies and cultural heritage preservation policies and instruments; - 12 SWOT and market analyses per partner region; - 1 joint comparative market analyses; - 12 local/regional stakeholders' seminars to identify best practices; - 12 regional+1 project level catalogue - at least 24 interregional meetings for intensified transfer of experience including site visits, staff exchanges, joint interregional “training” sessions; - 24 activity reports on transfers; - 12 jointly developed local and regional development policy recommendations and implementation plans; - 1 synthesis report of partners' policy recommendations

15 15 Main outputs & results of CeRamICa  Component 3 - Exchange of experiences  Results: - 12 improved regional development policies to promote, valorise and boost the ceramic and small craft sector in each partner region (local policy documents will be newly developed or amended); - at least 24 successful transfers of good practices; - strengthened capacity and awareness of potential young entrepreneurs attracted by the Ceramic and Small Craft sector, enhanced capacity of crafts women
