6/22/2016 3 Objectives of This Project Explore the viability of new teaching and learning environment –mobile phone access to internet instructional materials Prepare us to become better educator in the future

6/22/2016 4 Is M-learning Really Better? 1) Is student’ connecting time (study) increased? 2) Is students’ collaborating time increased? 3) Does it improved student’s learning outcome? In-depth understanding of the concepts?

6/22/2016 5 Comparative Study Experimental Group (PC and Mobile phone accessible) and Control Group (PC accessible only) Survey, Daily and weekly Time log, are used.

10 Student’s connecting time increased 20% student's study time has doubled 40% student’s study time increased at least 30% 40% students’ study time increased at least 50-70% The above results are from student’s survey

6/22/2016 11 Student’s collaborating time increased Students forming study group from day one 100% of the students believe iPhone has increased their connection both socially and academically Nearly 100% attendance for the mini-term

6/22/2016 12 In-depth Understanding Concept 95% of students believed phone has helped them to understand the class material better 80% of them believe they can repeat access the concept, including video and audio device 20% of them think the Photos build in the phone helps them with Lab exam
