2 Priority 1: Gender review of UNCT 2015 annual reports & 2016 workplans and Suggestion for ARC Key FindingsRecommendations 1: Involvement of RCs/UNCTs in key gender initiatives were not clear and contribution of Gender Theme Groups (GTGs) were not visible in some reports and workplans Need to highlight key gender-related initiatives at the RC/UNCT level as well as GTG level 2: Limited or no financial resources to gender-related activities in some workplans Need joint contribution from UNCT member agencie s (financial and human resources) 3: Twin-track approach of gender (gender mainstreaming + gender focus ) varies across 18 countries in annual reports and workplans RWGG will develop a checklist in Q3 and share with UNCTs upon the approval of Regional Directors to assist gender integration in 2016 annual reports and 2017 workplans of UNCTs 4: ARC (Assessment of Results and Competencies) of RC/UNCT does not provide concrete guidance on how to integrate gender and what’s the minimum standard on gender integration in ARC >> UNCT members who are the chairs of GTGs raised concerns Need minimum standard for integration of gender at indicator level >> Suggestion by RWGG: at least 2 indicators per ARC should be gender sensitive or specific.

3 Priority 2: Gender SURGE capacity in ECA (up to April 2016)  Gender Support at Country Level Technical support on gender mainstreaming in SDGs and/or UNDAFs (11) Workshop on SDGs/Gender (2) UNCT annual report, UNCT workplan, ARC (3) Normative work & National Strategy (2) Mission: 1 expert to Kyrgyzstan for gender session at UNDAF workshop (1)  Gender Support at Regional Level Contribution to mainstreaming gender in regional SDGs workshop (2) Regional Community of Practice on Gender & Gender and DRR (2) Support to national partners and UN staff in the region (1)  Support needed from RWGG 1)Information sharing on good practices, lessons, innovative approach on SDGs 2)Guidance and technical support on SDGs localization and monitoring 3)Technical support for gender scorecards

4 Priority 3: Update on Guidance Note on Gender and SDGs Lead Agencies: UNFPA and UNDP; Participating Agencies: UNW, UNICEF, WHO, FAO RATIONALE: Support UNCT to understand major gender trends in EECA Region in the context of the SDGs and assist countries to implement gender related targets and indicators. Highlight interconnectivity between different gender related targets under different Goals and holistic approach around addressing different issues. Provide policy recommendations, advocacy and programming entry points Highlight good practices from the region STRUCTURE: Section I: Overview/Analysis of trends in EECA Region Section 2: Trends to Targets – strategic entry points around specific issues:  Social inclusion/equality, political inclusion and women participation (Targets: 10.2; 4.5; 5.a; 5.5  Unpaid work and equality in employment (Targets: 5.4; 8.5)  Violence Against Women/Girls and Harmful Practices (Targets: 5.2; 5.3)  Women, Peace and Security (Targets: 16.a; 16.3;16.7)
