Impact Grant Overview 4 GOAL To help nonprofits increase community impact by harnessing the CSOD Learning Management System (LMS) to expand the reach of their programs and services.

Impact Grant Overview 5 Selected grantees receive a donation of up to $1M of CSOD software & services over 2 years Grantees must be able to: o Leverage CSOD’s learning technology for significant community impact o Demonstrate the necessary support and commitment (financial, technology, resources) to ensure future success

What IS Included 2015 – 2017: no software & services costs Unlimited usage of all components of Learning Management System (LMS) Software implementation & technical integrations Consulting Services (examples): o Learning design o Graphic design o Marketing / Social strategy support o Outsourced Administration for launch

What is NOT included Content Development Grantee is responsible for content creation o Outsourced e-learning development (~$12K-15K/hr) o Recommendations on vendors & support throughout design and development process A word on content readiness…

Organization: Based in Chicago, IL Operating Budget: $50M ~300 FTEs Pre-Impact Grant Runs several early education-focused programs Spent several years developing a robust strategic plan to scale programs nationally – Home Visiting program to be first Developed a well-respected training facility in Illinois. Training 95% of local HV market MISSION: Providing all children with quality early childhood experiences in the first 5 years of life Spotlight: The Ounce of Prevention

Post-Impact Grant: Offer a bundled curriculum of self-paced e-learning, webinars, ILT, communities Offer training payment in a variety of ways 2-Year Target: 2500 Home Visitors trained 5-Year Target: 6000 trained (21% of market) Spotlight: The Ounce of Prevention Dramatically expand the reach of their programs Maintain the high-touch nature of their training Using as a model to scale other programs nationally

Organization: Based in Charleston, SC Operating Expenses: $1.7M 12 FTEs Pre-Impact Grant Developed training proven to be effective o Primarily instructor-led, train-the-trainer o Developed a very basic e-learning course Had a rapidly expanding partner base Used an LMS that was expensive and buggy, couldn’t support growing demand MISSION: End child sexual abuse Spotlight: Darkness to Light

Post-Impact Grant Launch brand-new online child sexual abuse prevention and response training program Offer course at no cost, or large discount, through 2015 2-Year Impact: 200,000 professionals trained 5-Year Impact: 1 Million trained Manage registrations, credit card processing & reporting via one system Allow for group administrators to manage their own students

What Makes a Strong IG Candidate? Your Organization… Has a clearly articulated vision or plan for expansion of the program Has demonstrated the capacity to implement and manage technology Can demonstrate executive support for this program and understands the financial commitment in years 3-5

What Makes a Strong IG Candidate? Your Initiative… Can demonstrate evidence/research that shows positive outcomes for existing program Requires technology to scale – a need to have, not nice to have Has existing content and/or a content strategy for developing content Has a go-to-market plan for identifying and reaching target audiences

What Makes a Strong IG Candidate? Your Team… Has an identified and allocated resources for implementation, content creation and post-live administrative support Is cross-functional, including marketing, IT, HR, as necessary
