2 Pasadena Water and Power MWD 10-Day Shutdown Metropolitan Water District (MWD) will suspend water deliveries to Pasadena and other member agencies:  Start date: Monday, February 29, 2016  Scheduled Completion: Wednesday, March 9, 2016. About 60% of Pasadena’s water is imported from MWD Pasadena must rely solely on local groundwater supplies and water stored in reservoirs during the shutdown 2

3 Pasadena Water and Power 3 MWD Construction MWD is constructing a new ozone treatment facility at their Weymouth Treatment Plant in the City of LaVerne Plant will be shut down for 10 days to allow for switchover No imported water will be delivered to Pasadena during the shutdown.

5 Pasadena Water and Power 5 Water Conservation  Under Current Level 2 Restrictions:  The last watering day prior to the MWD shutdown would be Saturday, February 27, 2016  PWP would have insufficient time (only one day) to completely fill local reservoirs  Staff recommends implementing the Level 4 Water Supply Shortage Plan effective February 25, 2016

8 Pasadena Water and Power 8 Action Items 1.Declare CEQA Exemption 2.Set date of January 25, 2016, for Public Hearing to: 1.Determine water supply shortage emergency exists. 2.Temporarily implement Level 4 Water Supply Shortage Plan measures starting February 25, 2016 until MWD imported water supply is restored 3.Resume Level 2 Water Supply Shortage Plan after termination of temporary Level 2 Water Supply Shortage Plan
