2 REGIONAL COUNCILExecutive Director’s Report Governor’s Blue Ribbon Panel on Water Sustainability Governor’s Blue Ribbon Panel on Water Sustainability Purpose: “To advance statewide sustainability of water by increasing the reuse, recycling and conservation of water to support continued economic development in the State of Arizona while protecting Arizona’s water supplies and natural environment.” Infrastructure/Retrofit Working Group New objective added by Working Group: “Bring as many standards as possible into State rule, so there is less disparity among jurisdictions within Arizona.” Specification and Details for Public Works Construction Current specification for Reclaimed Water Line Construction (616) is being revised. Objections to a statewide standard have been voiced. Final report by the Blue Ribbon Committee November 2010. July 28, 2010

3 REGIONAL COUNCILExecutive Director’s Report Region Awarded $1.3 Million to House Homeless People Region Awarded $1.3 Million to House Homeless People The funding will provide 67 permanent housing units and an end to homelessness for more than one hundred people living on the streets in the region. The new project funding combined with the renewal project funding results in a total funding award of $23,567,138 this year. Since the committee’s inception in 1999, it has been responsible for securing more than $196 million in homeless assistance funding for our region. Executive Director’s Report July 28, 2010
