1 Diamonds….. Are a girls best friend! By: Ben Knight, Shy’Ann Patrick, Liz Starcher

2 What are the 3 different types of rocks and how are they formed? The 3 different types of rocks are Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary. Sedimentary rocks are formed by loose particles to make layers. Igneous rocks formed by molten rocks that cool, then harden. Metamorphic rocks are formed by heat and pressure.

3 Examples of the 3 different types of rocks? An example of an Igneous rock is Granite. An example of Metamorphic rock is Marble. An example of Sedimentary rock is Limestone.

4 Diamonds…….. what rock. Diamonds are Igneous. It is one form of crystal. Did you ever think why diamonds are a different color. Well Diamond Flourecence is what happens. Diamond Flourecence is a cycle that if the sunlight hits the diamond for so long that the diamond changes color. Also people can just dye them.

5 Minerals Minerals occurring inorganic compound minerals are naturally. Mineral bodies composed of one of more minerals in different amounts.

6 Characteristics of Diamonds Two different minerals are formed from carbon: diamonds and gemstone. Diamonds have cleavage. They do not have fracture.

7 How Diamonds are formed Diamonds were formed in the earth’s magma million of years ago. They where pushed up to the surface. They are formed high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.

8 What it is used for. It is used for jewelry. It is used for industry,cutting tools, polishing hard metal.
