7 “Our discussions and conversations have shone a light on something that I hadn't considered, appreciated and or rated as important. I was focused on providing a service that produced a desirable appearance ‘neat and tidy at all times’, therefore little if any consideration was given to the health benefits our public open space provides our community. Public health is directly related to the services the parks and gardens team provides.” “It has opened up pathways we could only have dreamt of and inspired our member groups to think more broadly about the benefits of working in open spaces, not only for themselves but for different groups within our community. As a result our groups have created new links with local schools and businesses and are better able to connect with Council to access community resources.” Peter McLarty, Manager Parks and Gardens (including Natural Resources) Anne Stelling, Wodonga Urban Landcare Network Coordinator But don’t just believe us...
