2. 1. If you study English Literature, History or Psychology (new linear specifications): You have not taken any external exams this year, and there will therefore not be any results for these subjects. 2. If you study any Art endorsements (new linear specifications): a. If you are continuing the subject to A level, there will not be any results for these subjects. b. If you are not continuing the subject to A level, your AS grade will be shown on your results sheet. The marks will not appear. It is not possible to remark Art, and it is not usually possible to resit it.

3. 3. If you study Accounting, D&T (Food or Product Design), French, Geography, German, Government & Politics, Maths, Further Maths, Media Studies, Music, PE or RE (legacy modular specifications): a. Your results sheet will show the UMS mark and grade for each unit, plus the total UMS mark and overall grade for the subject (much like on your GCSE results last Summer). b.The tables on the back of your result sheet will enable you to work out how close you are to the next grade above or below in individual units or the whole qualification. c. You can request copy scripts, remarks and/or retakes for individual units. a. At GCE it is possible to order a priority script which is guaranteed to come back in time to allow you to put in for a remark if it appears worth it. If a remark goes down it stays down, therefore we always suggest you consider obtaining the script first. b. If you are unhappy with your AS grade, remember it forms 50% of your A2 grade. For this reason it is almost always worth retaking any AS units where you think you have underperformed, particularly since on a retake the best mark always counts. It is very difficult to improve by more than one grade from AS to A2, and most people do not actually improve on their AS grade at all without resitting at aleast some units. c. For any remarks or retakes you might want to take advice from your teachers. d. If you plan to retake any unit always order a copy of the script to help you see where you can improve.

4. 4. If you study Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Economics, or Physics (new linear specifications): a. Your AS grade will be shown on your results sheet. The marks will not appear. Although they will be available from us (or your subject teachers) the way that papers are weighted will make them very difficult to interpret. b. You can request copy scripts and/or remarks of individual papers. c. If you retake, you must sit all the papers again. Remarking and retaking are likely to be very expensive. Since the linear AS does not contribute any marks to the A2, it is likely that you will only consider remarking if you wish to improve your AS grade for UCAS. Retaking will probably be worthwhile only if you are not continuing the subject to A level and want a better AS grade.

5. 5. Once results have been issued, do not hesitate to ask the Exams Office for help. After the 18 th of August we will be open every day (including Saturday) EXCEPT for the 3 Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday.
