4 the long and winding road the history 2000 IB reviewed its current registry system The system only met 30% of the CDC registry core attributes. Major architectural changes would be needed. Technical design was not easily adaptable. Partnered with NC DMA to pursue establishing a statewide registry. Began reviewing vendor systems 2001 CMS granted 90% funding. Received approval of Advanced Planning Document

5 2002 Received License Agreement with Wisconsin Began Contract Approval process for Phase I contract with EDS. 2003 Phase I contract with EDS. Defined development/enhancement requirements. Contract completed 06/2003. Phase II contract with EDS to begin 09/2003. CMS revoked 90% of funding. Governor declared no sole source contracts.

6 2004 RFP posted in February 2004. Contract with EDS began in July 2004. 2005 Piloted system in four counties February – May Statewide deployment to remaining 96 Local Health Departments June – October. 2006 Entered Maintenance & Operations phase of initial contract Implemented one year contract amendment for system enhancements.
