1 Students should complete questions 1-32 on a separate sheet of paper. They don’t need to do part 3 (essay), but instead respond to the hero journal (bell ringer/notebook item #14) Progress Test #2

2 Hero Journal (Bell Ringer/Notebook Item #14) Today you will be writing two paragraph-length journals explaining how your Choice Novel (the one you are reading in Cornerstone) fits in with the following sub-inquiry questions that come from our essential question “How does personal responsibility impact (affect) society. Choose two of the following prompts to write about, referencing data(evidence) from your Choice Novel if possible. -Why is it important to have heroes, fictitious or real? -Who does more for society—the hero or the anti-hero? -What role does the hero fulfill? -Why are we drawn to either the hero or the anti-hero?

3 Student may not get to this, and that is fine, I just don’t want early finishers to be behavior issues. I trust your judgement on whether there is enough time to even start this. When students finish the test and journal, they can begin reading the story of No Moccasins (in file folder). We will finish this next class. “No Moccasins”
