What is Our Assignment?

And Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:9-10 (NKJV)

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Mark 10:45 (NKJV) For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8 (NKJV)

Jesus was a man on a mission. He came to do the following: Seek and save the lost Give His life Destroy the works of the devil

And He said to them, "Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?" Luke 2:49 (NKJV)

Everything God created has a purpose. We are designed by God to solve problems. A dentist has a purpose. So does a CPA. How about our military heroes!

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." Jer 1:4-5 (NKJV)

But the Lord said to me: "Do not say, 'I am a youth,' For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you," says the Lord. Jer 1:7-8 (NKJV)

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38 (NKJV)

Each of us needs to find our place and give ourselves to it. Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called. 1 Cor 7:20 (NKJV)

1. You are just what the Doctor ordered. Moses was needed to lead Israel David to defeat Goliath Esther to save Israel

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. Prov 3:27 (NKJV)

Like a pirate looking for buried treasure But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man 1 Cor 2:9 (NKJV) 2. Your assignment is an exciting journey.

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 1 Cor 2:10 (NKJV)

See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant." Jer 1:10 (NKJV)

If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; 20 But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword"; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Isaiah 1:19-20 (NKJV)

And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country. Deut 28:2-3 (NKJV)

3. Your assignment will take time to complete. For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.2 A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.3 A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up.4 A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.5 A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. Eccl 3:1-5 (NLT)

A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; 7 A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; 8 A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace. Eccl 3:6-8 (NKJV)

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. Eccl 3:11 (NKJV)

Anything of great value will take time to develop. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart Gal 6:9 (NKJV)

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Eph 5:15- 16 (NKJV)

God knows what is right for us. But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. Job 23:10 (NKJV)

"Look, I go forward, but He is not there, And backward, but I cannot perceive Him; 9 When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him. Job 23:8-9 (NKJV)

4. Your assignment will require your focus. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matt 6:33 (NKJV)

Principles to use to stay focused: A. Focus helps us become great not good. B. Focus releases energy C. Focus helps us reach our destination.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:13-14 (NKJV)

D. Focus releases mountain moving faith. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; James 1:6-7 (NKJV)
