1 NOVEMBER 2015 TULARE COUNTY LIBRARY MONTHLY ACTIVITIES

2 ALPAUGH BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 This month kids created different Fall crafts. Crafts included: Fall wreath, Turkey Puppet, Thanksgiving Card, Thanksgiving Coloring Pages. LEGO Club is still attracting kids and participation is good.

3 DINUBA BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 November was a busy month at the library. Preschool stories and crafts were enjoyed by all. Children enjoyed learning on the peek-a-book and AWE computers. Children had fun making the turkey crafts. The crafts they enjoyed were Fall wreaths, turkey puppets, Thanksgiving cards, and turkey coloring pages. Students enjoyed playing board games after school.

4 EARLIMART BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 This months crafts we made a:Fall wreath, turkey puppet and a thanksgiving card. we also had some coloring pages activities. On November 20 th I had 2 preschool classes that came for a library tour. We read a book talk about the library, took turns using the computer and did a craft.

5 EXETER BRANCH -NOVEMBER 2015 Exeter had a fun November. We had adult coloring pages available for the whole month of November. Our first annual Great Stuffed Animal Sleepover was on Thursday, November 19. We had 19 people attend the event and 9 stuffed animals/toys attend spent the night at the library. Children were given a certificate for participation and pictures of what the toy/stuffed animal did while the spent the night. 4H Clubs had their information on display for the month of November.

6 IVANHOE BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 November was a fun month with movies, Wii, fall and Thanksgiving crafts and lots of other games and activities. The movies that we watched were “Inside Out”, “Toy Story, That Time Forgot”, “Space Jam” and “A Charlie Browns Thanksgiving”. The November crafts were Fall Wreaths, Turkey Puppets, Thanksgiving Cards and Thanksgiving coloring pages.

7 LINDSAY BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 Customers are thankful for our library! Crafts for the Thanksgiving Season were Fall wreath, Turkey Puppet, Thanksgiving Card, Thanksgiving Coloring Pages. Lindsay Library is going through some staff changes at this time. We still have our wonderful part time shelver and all around helper.

8 OROSI BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 It was a delight to watch as more parents became involved in helping their kids with the crafts; some of the crafts were fall wreaths, turkey puppets, hand-print turkeys, and Thanksgiving cards. In two large class visits the preschoolers listened as Joyce read stories to them and they learned about their local public library. Lots of kids played the Wii on Thursdays; many enjoyed the new movie “Inside Out” on Wednesday; and a large group of adults from the Family Education Center came in to get their library cards – most of them for the first time.

9 SPRINGVILLE BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 Springville children enjoyed celebrating November holidays by making Fall wreaths, handprint turkey puppets and decorated Thanksgiving cards. The “TOYS FOR TOTS” DRIVE is underway here at Springville Branch. Kids enjoyed playing board games this month

10 STRATHMORE BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 Strathmore children learned the meaning of Thanksgiving this month. The children made a hanging Indian Corn, Handprint Turkey Puppets, Fall Wreaths, and a Turkey handprint card. The TOYS FOR TOTS DRIVE began at Strathmore Branch. Teens made decorated tape trees and painted wooden pictures frames.

11 THREE RIVERS LIBRARY – NOVEMBER 2015 Community Program: Kevin Morris, GIS coordinator for Sequoia National Park provided a short background in geographic information systems (GIS) and how the park uses the information. November Crafts. Fall Wreath. Turkey Puppet. Thanksgiving Card. Coloring Pages. Lego Winner

12 TIPTON BRANCH – NOVEMBER 2015 This month kids created Fall inspire crafts. Crafts included a Fall wreath, turkey puppet, and Thanksgiving card. We have more kids participating in crafts and Wii.

13 VISALIA BRANCH-NOVEMBER 2015 Adult Programs Over 30 people attended the Legacy Voices program on November 6 th, presented by Saburo and Marion Masada, which focused on the Japanese-American experience during WWII. Librarians organized a month-long display for veterans, which included books on war experiences, a memorial list of Tulare County Veterans who died in service over the past 75 years, and a large card signed by patrons, thanking veterans. International Games Day drew in a crowd on November 21 st. All ages participated in tabletop, card, and video games throughout the day. Teen Programs Teens planned winter programs at the T.A.G. meeting on November 14 th. A handful of teens attended the second monthly Board Game Night on November 19 th. Children’s Programs All branches served as drop-off points for the Tulare County Association of Governments (T.C.A.G.) Clean Air Contest. Children and teens drew pictures that fit the theme of “It’s Cool to Walk and Roll to School!” Over 60 children and parents participated in Thanksgiving Break activities, which included a movies, board games, and holiday crafts.
