ABSTRACT

The project “Scholarship Management System” is a software package developed for managing student’s scholarship details, branch details and college details. The software is very helpful to find the eligible candidates from different colleges. The project finds the eligible candidates from students list on the basis of marks, caste, sports and income. My project is developed using Java with MySQL as database. Java is a powerful tool for network programming and is the front-end of this project with MySQL as backend. It is the most powerful database server and it provides data integrity and consistency.

MODULE DESCRIPTION This project contains main modules are: STUDENT DETAILS This module provides the details of students applied for scholarship. COLLEGE DETAILS This module stores the details of colleges and courses. ELIGIBILITY DETAILS This module finds the eligible candidates for the scholarship.

SCHOLARSHIP ALLOCATION MODULE
This module provides the logic of all scholarships allocation schemes. The scholarship of semester 1 is issued in the university. i .Merit scholarship This provides the scholarship for achieving 80% and above marks of students. There are 5 seats in this section. These students are not eligible for other scholarships. ii. Sports This section provides the sports scholarship for state and national level winners.

iii.Community This section provides the community based scholarship. Religion This provides the religion based scholarship to candidates. Cast. This provides scholarship based on the reserved cast. iv. Income category This module provides income scholarship for eligible candidates.

After successfully user testing it has been found that the new system has overcome most of the limitations of the existing system and works according to the design specification given. The developed systems dispense the problem and meet the needs of by providing reliable and comprehensive information. All the requirements projected by the user have been met by the system. The newly developed system consumes less processing time and all the details are updated and processed immediately. Since the screen provides online help messages and is very user-friendly, any user will get familiarized with its usage. Modules are designed to be highly flexible so that any failure requirements can be easily added to the modules without facing many problems.
