3 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “The fact that the teachers knew every student by name, and were willing to explain something a student didn’t get helped a lot. Also the reviews in the lab were a lifesaver for me.”

5 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “As a multimodal learner, I really benefited from the several resources offered. The virtual notes, the reviews in class, online reviews, and class lectures created a great repetition for me. This is what helped me remember a lot of the concepts.”

6 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “I found that by the teachers using different learning styles I was better able to look at algebra problems in many different ways.”

7 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “The combined classroom and computer lab, both with helpful instructors, gave me a chance to learn the lessons presented in a way that really made sense – most of the time.”

9 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “It was easier to remember things learned in 0303 (Intermediate Algebra) that are also used in College Algebra; not having a month or semester break gave me the skills to be able to remember things a little better. Plus I love how much more involved the Professors are.”

10 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “There are many factors that contributed to my success in this class. Although what stands out to me the most is the determination & eagerness my professors have to make sure I’m grasping what is taught; even if that means explaining the problem to me over a few different ways. Secondly, the lab was extremely beneficial. I enjoyed the benefit having professors on hand if I had questions. There is no way I would have been successful if I had taken a different class.”

11 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “ For me, the interaction with the professors helped. Being able to approach them for direction allowed for a more relaxed environment. The pace of the class itself was helpful. For me it was just right for learning. The ability to work the assignments on MyLabsPlus enabled me to work continuously until I fully understood the process. Lastly, the attitude and enjoyment of each day in class helped me look forward to attending class and learn.”

12 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “Being able to print the notes from that day and not having to write them allowed me to just focus on how to solve the particular problem without having to write the notes and then go back and catch up!”

13 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “I’m not sure what components helped me be successful in College Algebra mainly because I feel like this was probably the hardest class I ever took. I stuck with it though. If anything did help me get to this point of the class it was probably the teachers. They actually wanted to be here or so it seemed – so it made me want to be here and give it all I had.”

And as a side note, without the paired class I would have never gotten my math confidence back & might have changed my degree plan to something ‘easy’.”

20 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “MyMathLab is really helpful when you are home and don’t have the aid of an instructor. But the most important component of the class is knowing that you are going to accomplish something. Kinda like killing two birds with one stone.”

21 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “A digital architecture for dealing with homework/quizzes and the incorporation of helpful visuals to promote memorizations are the main components of the paired class that helped me succeed.”

22 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “The best and most helpful part of the class is the lab time. We are able to ask questions to get help and get tutored knowing that we are not disrupting the other students in the class.”

23 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “From the beginning the teachers were very positive. They kept up this energy through the entire semester. They allowed students to take notes but also allowed them to be adults and activity choose to listen…Other than the positive attitudes, the required lab was a fantastic encouragement to keep homework completed. Positivity and teaching style (such as providing lecture notes), as well as the lab schedule truly helped me, normally an F student in math, maintain an A average.”

24 Co-requisite Model Student Comments “The two classes, working hand in hand, helped me understand the big picture. Math became interesting again. I wish I would’ve known these formulas during my 17 year career as a pawnbroker!”
