6 www.acponline.org ACP Membership Continues to Grow  Effective June 30, 2013,total membership was 137,000, and international membership exceeded 11,000.  ACP has 58 domestic chapters and 15 international chapters.

7 www.acponline.org International Membership 15 International Chapters: Brazil, Canada (6 chapters), Central America, Chile, Colombia, Japan, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Southeast Asia, Venezuela In 2013:  ACP Southeast Asia Chapter became active. In 2014:  ACP will hold its first national conference in India September 5-6, 2014 in New Delhi.

8 www.acponline.org Member Demographics “Fast Facts” about ACP Membership:  57% of Members & Fellows specialize in General Internal Medicine (GIM); 33% in an IM subspecialty; and 5% in Hospital Medicine  96% of Members & Fellows spend some time providing patient care ; 69% spend the majority of their time in clinical practice  40% of Members & Fellows are employed in private practice (owners or employees), 23% in Academic Medical Centers, and 13% in private hospitals  Compared to Members & Fellows, Early Career Physicians are less likely to be male or Caucasian; less likely to be subspecialists; and more likely to specialize in hospital medicine From 2012 to 2013:  Women members increased by 6%  International membership increased by 9%
