2. What is art? Why is it important? Art is a language. Through out time, art has been one of the most effective ways to express ideas and feelings.

3. What is an artist? An artist is a person who uses imagination and skill to communicate ideas in visual form. An artist is good at a number of things. Through the ages, they have been mathematicians, scientists and writers.

4. Leonardo da Vinci He had a keen eye and quick mind that led him to make important scientific discoveries, yet he never published his ideas. He was a gentle vegetarian who loved animals and despised war, yet he worked as a military engineer to invent advanced and deadly weapons He was one of the greatest painters of the Italian Renaissance, yet he left only a handful of completed paintings

11. How do artist’s speak? Mathematician’s use numbers, artist’s use line. Musicians communicate through notes and sounds, artists speak in color and shape. Writer’s rely on words, artists on form, space, and texture.
