2. Name Your Account Type in a user name of your choice.

3. You can set up a password to the account you’re making.

4. Accepting the license terms Click both “I Accept” boxes to continue.

5. Windows Update Click the “Use Recommended Settings” Box.

6. Fix Your Time Settings Make sure you put in the right time or the computer time will be wrong.

7. Wireless Settings (optional) If you have access to a wireless network you can set up the connection if not press skip. Your own wireless connections will allow you to use the internet on either the Lindsay account or the one you just set up.

8. Log On Log in to the Lindsay user account for the next steps.

9. Set up the internet A Verizon box will appear to gain access to the internet, don’t close it.

10. Installed Internet You have to activate the connection to the internet by clicking the yes button.

11. Complete the activation Click ok when prompted to. Then click the green button to connect to the internet.

12. Connecting the internet Check the “Don’t show this message again” box and then click continue. If you do not have access to a wireless network you will have to use the 3G internet provided by Verizon

13. Disconnecting from the internet Using the internet drains the battery faster so once you’re done using it disconnect by pressing the red button.

14. Now For The Fun Stuff!  Click Start, Then Control Panel

15. Creating a New Account  From there,  click on “Add  or Remove  Users”

16. Creating a New Account cont.  Click on  create new  user

17. Entering Your Name  Here, enter your name. Then select the Administrator option instead of Standard User, this will give you full control of your netbook.

18. Changing Other Things Click on your newly created account. From there, you’ll see a variety of options that you can chose to personalize your account.

19. Safety Concerns  Feel free to change the picture on your account, or even the name, but we STRONGLY recommend password locking your account above all.

20. NETBOOK ISSUES OR QUESTIONS  Should you have questions about the functioning of your netbooks, fill out a netbook question/concern form in the office.  Should you be experiencing trouble with your netbook and want it to be looked at, fill out a netbook question/concern form in the office and turn in the form and your netbook to one of the ladies in the front office.

21. WARNING  These netbooks are being checked out to students because we expect them to handle them properly. This means no illegal activities. If you are to corrupt the netbook, our team will have to restore it to factory setting. That means you’ll lose any data you had saved. Remember, the school isn’t compelled to loan you a netbook. Try not to abuse their generosity.
