2 Description of theme-(Teen Violence) Teen violence- when someone under the age of 21 or above the age of 12 acts upon someone or something to disrupt or disturb the person or thing. Many causes can control why teens cause violence.

3 Theme cont. Where it can occur? Most of teen violence occurs in schools or in public parks sometimes “the streets”. What drives Teen Violence? Rivalry Parenting issues Home problems Social Status Love

4 Teen Violence in Romeo & Juliet Mercutio is killed only because of a family rivalry Paris is killed only because he is in Romeo’s way of getting to Juliets tomb Tybalt is also killed because he killed Mercutio

5 Teen Violence in Romeo & Juliet Continued So obviously there is a lot of unnecessary teenage violence in Romeo and Juliet Three people are killed just because of love and rivalry

6 Description of research topic- (Teen Gangs) Research question- how does teenage violence effect the lives of modern Americans? Teens that don’t get involved in violence still get effected by it. Every teen is effected by it because it gives teens a Bad image.

7 Description of research topic- (Teen Gangs) Cont. Teen Gangs- anyone form the age of 12 to 21 in a group that causes damage to society. Teen Gangs- get involved in drug markets, which end up in deals that can be deadly.

8 Research Slides Most gangs are located in major cities, in Chicago 80% of all murders are gang related In Houston there are 200 gangs and 10,000 gang members

9 Research Slides Continued About 60% of the time there is a connection between the killer and the victim Age and race are also factors in most murders, the average age of a victim is 30.

10 Linking research to R & J Our Topic was Teen Violence & Gangs. Some examples in Romeo and Juliet that show Teen Violence & Gangs is: When the families get in fights. We picked teen violence for Romeo and Juliet because their was plenty of fuding between the familes.

12 Linking Research to American Teenagers In today’s society there are a lot of gangs who like to share drugs with each other In high school it isn’t uncommon to see or hear about a kid who does drugs These drugs may cause violence and make school unsafe

13 Linking Research to American Teenagers Not all teenagers like everybody, they tend to dislike people and cause rivalries The tension can rise and eventually lead to teen violence In some extreme cases death can be involved (that is not good)

14 Conclusion Our thesis statement: How does teen Age violence Effect the lives of American teens. Teen violence does not include all teens but give an image for them. We conclude that most teens are not disobedient.
