1 Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry BACKGROUND OF CMEA The Chief Minister’s Environmental Award (CMEA) is the premier environmental award for business, industry, private sector and Local Authorities in Sarawak. It serves as incentives to encourage stewardship in environmental protection and management in the State. The objectives of the Award are to: a)Provide organizations with the opportunity of an independent evaluation of their environmental commitment; b)Stimulate business and industry initiatives in assuming a proactive role in environment protection; c)Recognize the achievements of exemplary participating organizations for other similar organizations to emulate; and d)Inculcate and reinforce the concept and practice of 3Rs, that is, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, as a way of life towards a Green Mother Earth in line with the concept of “Think Globally, Act Locally” VISION OF THE CMEA Enhancing the level of awareness and to promote good stewardship among the private and public sectors in environmental protection, management and conservation of natural resources towards self-regulation. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION By registering and entering this Competition, each participant agrees to abide by the following terms and conditions:- 1)No entry fee is required. 2)Eligibility: a) Subject to the provisions stipulated herein-below, the Competition is open to all Sarawakians; b) The Secretariats of the Logo Design Competition are not eligible to participate in this Competition; 3) Each participant in this Competition may submit up to a maximum of 2 logo designs. Each logo submission must be an original piece of computer-generated design or scanned image of a physical drawn design; 4) Each logo submission shall contain the name ‘Chief Minister’s Environmental Award’ or ‘CMEA’ (or both). It is essential for each logo submission to be associated with the Objectives and VISION of the Award; 5)Participants are required to provide a written explanation the meaning of each logo submission (eg. colour, object, symbol, etc.); 6)The logo description must be type in A4 page layout. Font formats are either: Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri, Cambria or Lucida Calligraphy sized 11 or 12; 7)The image must be saved at a resolution that will enable the Judges to zoom in to see details during judging, so the image size for digital file must not exceeding 1280 x 1024 pixels or 5MB each. 8)File formats allowed are: ai, psd, jpeg, png, or pdf; preferably in RGB color mode; 9)By entering, entries acknowledges, agrees and understands that all design submitted will become the exclusive property of the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak, which retains exclusive rights to the reproduction of the design and the submitting participant relinquishes all rights to such design; 10)Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak shall have the right to edit, composite, scan, duplicate or alter the entry design for any purpose which it deems necessary or desirable, without the need for any further compensation, and/or permission; 11)The Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) Sarawak reserves the rights to modify the competition terms and conditions at any time; 12)Entries must acknowledge that each entry design is: a)wholly original; b)does not incorporate or include any material that would require the consent of any third party; and c)Does not violate any copyright, trademark, publicity right, privacy right, or any other right of any third party; 13) All participants must submit the logo designs by 12.00 noon, 29 th February 2016 (Monday). SELECTION OF WINNER 1)Only one (1) winner will be selected. 2)All entries will be assessed based on the judging criteria and the best entries that comply with all the terms and condition will be presented to the Main Organizing Committee for final assessment. 3)The selection of winner will be determined by the Main Organizing Committee of the Chief Minister’s Environmental Award 2016, and result is final. 4)Announcement of the Winner will be made in the NREB web-portal and the winning logo will be featured in its online gallery. PRIZE: RM 2000.00 and Certificate PRESENTATION OF THE PRIZE 1)Prize presentation for this logo competition will be during the CMEA 2016 Award presentation ceremony; and 2)Winner will be contacted via official letter, email and telephone call and will received the prize from The Right Honourable Chief Minister of Sarawak.
