2 Why Praise Him? –The command to Praise God (113:1). 1 Praise the LORD. Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. (Psalms 113:1, NIV)

3 Why Praise Him? –An example of Praise to God (113:2a). 2 Let the name of the LORD be praised, both now and forevermore. 3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised. (Psalms 113:2-3, NIV)

4 Why Praise Him? –The Practice of Praise to the Lord (113:2b- 3). 11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Revelation 4:11, NIV)

5 Why Praise Him? Because of His Glory…Praise Him –He Is Exalted (v. 4). 4 The LORD is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. (Psalms 113:4, NIV).

6 Why Praise Him? –He Is Exceptional (113:5). 5 Who is like the LORD our God,the One who sits enthroned on high, (Psalms 113:5, NIV) –He Is Extraordinary (113:6). 6 who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? (Psalms 113:6, NIV)

7 Why Praise Him? –Because of His Grace…Praise Him. 7 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; (Psalms 113:7, NIV) –The Grace of His Reaching Down. 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,(Phil. 2:6, NIV)

8 Why Praise Him? 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death- even death on a cross! (Phil. 2:7-8, NIV)

12 Why Praise Him? Because of His Greatness…Praise Him. –He Cancels Our Pasts (113:8). 8 he seats them with princes, with the princes of their people. (Psalms 113:8, NIV)

13 Why Praise Him? 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph 2:10, NIV)
