1. Sustainability at LSU 2009 Marguerite Green and Randa Whitaker

2. ECO’s Earth Day 2009 Handed out surveys- although not yet tallied students gave an overwhelming response that they cared about campus sustainability Distributed trees and seeds and chatted people up about sustainability on campus and interested students for next year Over a hundred surveys filled out- over 75 students “interested” in being part of a sustainability class next semester.

3. Local Food The local food group has accomplished the placement of local food in the 459 commons and we intend to advertise this with a ‘local food’ emblem.

4. Incoming freshman Information on sustainability has been compiled into a brochure which, pending approval, will be available at all Freshman orientations as well as STRIPES sessions. Door hangers for move in day next year will be distributed in the dorms focusing mainly on decreasing energy consumption in the dorms. Statistics from UNPLUG will be used to show students what is possible.

5. Recycling awareness! Having noticed the large amount of non- recyclable things in campus recycling bins we have begun to develop a recycling awareness poster for dorm garbage rooms and above dining hall recycling bins.

6. Pedestrian campaign Student related bike and walking statistics will be distributed at the front desk of every dorm encouraging students to ‘Come back on a bike!’ next year. The same fact sheets are also posted at coffee shops, the library and nearby apartment complexes.
