Thomas Edison is from Milan, Ohio and when he invented the light bulb he wanted to light the streets of Cleveland. So, that’s where the first traffic light was installed in 1914.

11 Ohio State Buckeyes! I am a big Ohio State buckeyes fan. The Ohio State University is in the city of Columbus, where my family used to live. Game days are a big deal for people in Columbus! If you go to the grocery store on a game day everyone will be wearing Ohio State shirts, pants, headbands, etc. People will have flags up, signs on their houses. It is crazy! Ohio Sate won the college football championship last year.

12 Flag! Ohio’s state flag is not a rectangle like all the other flags, instead in is a pennant shape. The blue triangle represents Ohio’s hills and valleys. It has 17 white stars but, the thirteen stars around the circle represent the 13 colonies. The red and white strips represent the roads and waterways of Ohio. Can you see the big white circle? That is an “O” for Ohio. It is also supposed to by a buckeye nut for Ohio’s nickname “The Buckeye State.”

13 Cedar Point Have any of you heard about Cedar Point or been there? For those of you who don’t have a clue what I’m talking about, Cedar Point is an amusement park. Cedar Point is known as one of the best amusement parks in the world. There is rides that I didn’t even know was possible to build. I am sad that my family didn’t go when we lived in Ohio.
