6 A sentence is a group of words that gives a complete meaning. It doesn’t need another word or group of words to do so. 1)Assertive Sentence 2)Interrogative Sentence 3)Imperative Sentence 4)Exclamatory Sentence 5)Optative Sentence Do you know why we use various types of sentences? Let’s see: There are five kinds of sentences according to meaning. They are-

8 The girl is happy.Meena is running. Smartphones are useful. The bird is flying. Assertive Sentence Assertive sentence makes a statement. It ends with a full stop.

9 Interrogative Sentence Is the bulb ok ? Don’t you like music ? Do you like ice-cream ? Where is the car going ? Interrogative sentence asks question. It ends with a question mark.

10 Imperative Sentence Meena, do your homework before going to play. Don’t close your mouth, please. Help the old woman.Eat the pizza. An imperative gives order or makes request. It ends with a full stop.

11 Exclamatory Sentence Ouch, that hurts ! Happy birth day, Raju ! Hurrah ! We have won the match. What a beautiful rose it is ! An exclamatory sentence expresses strong feelings. It ends with an exclamation mark.

12 Optative Sentence May Allah bless you today and always. May you be happy in life. Optative sentences usually begins with MAY and ends with a period.
