3.   The main conflict in Lebanon is Christians against Muslims because of Muslims being the majority they want political and economic equality.  Christians dominate the south and northwest because of being descendants from the ancient Phoenicians.  Muslims reign in the far north, northeast, south, south-central, and southeast because of the Shiite, Sunni, and Druze Muslims. 4.   Countries have tried to established peace in Lebanon but have failed.(Syria failed to establish peace and withdrew its troops in 2005)  Example: United States withdraws troops from Lebanon after 241 U.S. marines died in a truck bomb in 1983. Outside Forces

5.   Lebanon gains independence in 1943, a constitution establishes all Lebanon ethnic groups religions should be displayed in the Chamber of Deputies.  A civil war starts in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, between the Christian eastern zone and Muslim western zone between 1975-1990 for land.  A Lebanon government starts in 1944 and Christians control all of Lebanon's main business.  Muslims demand economic and political equality in 1975.  In 1990, Muslims get one half of the parliament seats.(128 seats out of 256) Timeline

6.   Location- The borders of ethnic groups changes as conflicts with Muslims vs Christians happen.(Beirut)  Human Environment Interaction-The environment becomes less with the need for more resources and materials for events like civil wars.  Movement-Muslims are the majority of the population and are trying to gain economic equality as Christians.(protest and guerilla warfare)  Region- The region changes as Lebanon is taken over by other countries like Syria. 7.   One solution is for Lebanon to start national unity between the Christians and Muslims. If Lebanon does this then they can constitute a political and legal system that is represented by all of Lebanon's citizens.  The second solution is for Lebanon to start being regionally cooperated. In doing so conflicts like the Syrian Civil War would end and Lebanon's refugees could return home. Solutions of Conflict
