2 Suffix: “-y” Suffix: “-y”
Definition: Having or being, characterized by Example Word: Classy- having class, style, and/or sophistication Example Sentence: That young lady dresses very classy for being in college.

3 Words with the Suffix “-y”
Stealthy- Marked by or acting with quiet, caution, and secrecy intended to avoid notice. Messy- untidy or having or being dirty. Cloudy- Covered or characterized by clouds in the sky Scratchy- Characterized by having a rough, uncomfortable texture and tending to cause itching or discomfort. Swampy- Having the characteristic of or resembling a swamp

4 Suffix: “-ly” Definition: In this way or describes a way of being.
Example Word: Hastily- with excessive speed or urgency; hurriedly. Example sentence: The students walked hastily from the hallway to their bus on Friday afternoon excited about their weekend plans.

Avariciously: characterized by the need for greed and riches. Readily: without hesitation or reluctance; willingly. Wittingly: knowing; aware; conscious. Leniently: characterized by being tolerant Heroically: characterized by being like a hero in characteristics or size.

Example Word: Genuineness- possessing the claimed or attributed character, quality, or origin; not counterfeit; authentic; real Example Sentence: The genuineness behind the students excitement for learning is what the teachers love to see.

Humbleness: not proud or arrogant; modest. Squeamishness: Easily shocked by anything that is disgusting or considered immodest. Greediness: excessively or inordinately desirous of wealth, profit. Rashness: characterized by or showing too great haste or lack of consideration. Carelessness: not paying enough attention to what one does.

Example Word: Deceitful- intended to deceive; misleading; fraudulent Example Sentence: The parent was very deceitful when they told their child they were going to the beach when they were really going to Disney World.

Boastful: Given to or characterized by exaggeration and excessive pride. Disdainful: Full of or showing despise or contempt. Mindful: Bearing in mind; regardful; attentive; heedful; observant. Powerful: Full of power; capable of producing great effects of any kind. Wasteful: Full of waste; destructive to property; ruinous.

Definition: People who do things. Example Word: Ophthalmologist: a doctor who specializes in eye/optical surgeries. Example Sentence: The ophthalmologist told the young patient that he could help her vision by performing Lasik eye surgery.

Fabricator: A person who fabricates or manufactures something; a manufacturer. Geographer: a person who specializes in geographical research, delineation, and study. Zoologist: a person with a specialty in science or branch of biology dealing with animals. Jeweler: a person who designs, makes, sells, or repairs jewelry and watches. Ambassador: a diplomatic official of the highest rank, sent by one sovereign or state to another as its resident representative.
