Admission Procedures  Submission of Application documents to the Graduate Office - Internet upload of application form : March 17 th (Wed) 09:00 ~ April 6 th (Tue) 17:00 - Documents submission : March 29 th (Mon) 09:00 ~ April 9 th (Fri) 17:00  Screening by each department : May 6 th (Thu) ~ 17 th (Mon)  Evaluation by the Board of the Graduate School : - Around May 25 th (Tue)  Announcement of admitted students : June 7 th (Mon)  Issuing formal certificate of Admission : During June  Review by the Immigration Office : During July and August  Getting a VISA and Immigration to Korea : During August  Registration (Enrollment), Registration Classes, etc. : During August  Orientation for campus life : in the early of September  Application for Alien Registration Card – within 90 days of the arrival in Korea  Application for Student ID Card – After obtaining the Alien Registration Card and taking an insurance.

Documents for Application  Application form (Print out after on-line application, Leave your signature)  Resume (Designated form/download)  Certificates of degree / Diplomas (Original Copy or notarized copy in English or Korean)  Official transcripts (Original Copy in English or Korean)  Recommendation letter (From a professor from former university, Contact information & signature needed)  Copies of passport, ID Card or Citizenship Certificate.  Personal Statement (Designated form/download)  Study Plan (Designated form/download)  Certificate of Bank Account (USD 5,000 deposited more than 1 month)  Certificate of Language Proficiency-TOEIC/TOEFL/IELTS/TOPIK (only for those who hold) (Strongly recommend to submit one of them to achieve international scholarship from our graduate school)  Letter of Consent (Designated form/download)  Certificates of parents' nationality (official documents or copies of both parents' passports)  Additional documents required for Chinese applicants  中國高等敎育學歷査詢報告 (www.chsi.com.cn) – Original Certificatewww.chsi.com.cn  居民身分證 (a copy of ID card)  居民戶口簿 - Applicant, parents, brothers and sisters  父母在職證明書直 – Original Certificate with contact information of company  父母年收入證明書 – Original Certificate with contact information of company  For more information please visit our website (http://grad.inha.ac.kr)http://grad.inha.ac.kr  All documents should be in English or in Korean.

Scholarships (1)  Jungseok International Scholarship  Half or full tuition fee waive.  Scholarship students in the fall semester in 2010  Scholarship students in 2010 (spring and fall semester) : 80 students  Requirements for scholarship application  Applicants should meet (1) or (2). (1) Obtain a grade point average(G.P.A.) above 80% in the previous course (2) Have at least one of Language Proficiency Certificates. Scholarships (2)  Duration of Scholarship  How to select scholarship students  The amount of scholarship for your first semester will be decided according to the results of admission evaluation.  Evaluation Factors : University which you enrolled for previous course, your previous GPA, study plan, Language Proficiency, Interview, and so on.  From the second semester the amount of scholarship can be changed based on scholarship evaluation. Every semester, international students will be evaluated after their entrance.  There may be a change in the amount of scholarship according to whether you followed your study plan zealously, your GPA, language ability, dissertation accomplishments, and research participation during your academic study at the Graduate School, Inha University. Scholarships (3)  Other Scholarship Program  Scholarship for Laboratory Assistant : 1~2 million KRW / a semester  Scholarship for Teaching Assistant : 1~1.45 million KRW / a semester  Scholarship for Office Assistant : 500,000 KRW / a month  Assigned by your adviser professor after arrival on campus  BK21 Research stipend  Research Assistantship : individually assigned by professor  Korean Government Scholarship * For more information : http//grad.inha.ac.kr

7 Campus 4. Information about Campus Life(1)  Should submit these documents to the international center right after arrival on campus  A copy of Passport and Alien Registration ID Card  Registration (Enrollment)  Should get the bill of registration from INS Program and visit the Finance Team on the 1 st floor in the main building.  Pay your tuition fee, entrance fee(KRW 979,000), and student union fee(KRW 8,000).  Tuition : ① Engineering & Art : KRW 5,541,000 / ② Natural Science & Sports : KRW 5,142,000 / ③ Humanities & Social Science : KRW 4,278,000 / ④ Medicine : KRW 7,009,000  Should keep the registration period.  Mandatory Health Insurance Policy  Take Dongbu Insurance designated by Inha University or personal choice of insurance company.  Dongbu Insurance : Approximately 53,000KRW (6 months)

8 4.Information about Campus Life(2)  Registration of classes through INS (http//portal.inha.ac.kr)  Registration for Korean Language Course  When you have already passed Level 3 or upper level of Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK), you do not need to take the course.  There will be a Korean Language Placement Test in the beginning of each semester.  Completing Korean Language Course(Beginner & Intermediate) is a part of qualification for graduation.  Credits will not be given for Korean Language classes.  Application for addtional scholarship programs  Jungseok Scholarship awardee may apply for other scholarships also.

9 4.Information about Campus Life(3)  Extending VISA Period  Foreign students should visit the Immigration Office to extend their VISA every year  Period of D-2 Visa  Documents for a VISA Extension  Passport  Certificate of enrollment  Academic Transcripts  Certificate of scholarship (Graduate Office)  International students who finished the essential credits can extend VISA only for a limited period. - Master’s course : 1 year - Doctoral course : 2 year CourseMasterDoctoralIntegrated Period2 years3 years4 years

10 4.Information about Campus Life(4)  Dormitory Application  After getting agreement from your adviser professor you should fill out the application form and submit it to dormitory office by e-mail.  Type of Room : - Quadruple (Shared bathroom & shower) - Double A (Shared bathroom & shower) - Double B (Private bathroom & shower)  About 850,000~1,400,000 KRW per each semester excluding vacation.  Off-campus Housing  One-room type rent  Equipped with a fridge, air-conditioner, closet, gas burner, gas- heating equipment, and so on.  Deposit money : 2~3,000,000 KRW  Monthly lent fee : 2~400,000 KRW  Unfurnished rooms  150,000~250,000 KRW per one month is needed

11 4.Information about Campus Life(5) In case…  When you change your residence place and phone number  When you go back to your home country during semester or vacation ⇒ You should report to immediately the Graduate School Office.
