6 Breaks During Testing Restroom breaks during unit – No more than one student at a time allowed to use restroom, and students must be supervised Classroom stretch break during unit – Up to three minutes during testing Breaks between units – If administering 2 units back-to-back, students should be allowed to go to bathroom, stretch and get a drink.

7 Roles of Individuals LEA (Lead Education Agency/ LTC (District Test Coordinator) Kathryn Carter (back-up: Tia Burnett) STC: Building level coordinators and back-up TA (Test Administrator) Certified teacher assigned to administer assessment Proctor Individual assigned to help TA monitor test units TC (Technology Coordinator) assist with technical issues

8 Security Forms Chain-of-Custody Form (before and after each test administration) Security Agreement – each person in training session inclusive of administrators Form to report Test Irregularity and Security Breach (minimal of one given when teachers checkout testing materials) – Reporting – STC calls the LEA Test Coordinator immediately to report irregularity, security breach, safety threat, or severe weather – Hand delivered daily to LEA Test Coordinator to address issue immediately at end of testing date Post-Test Certification Form

9 Testing Irregularities and Security Breaches Electronic Devices Test Materials – Losing a student testing ticket – Leaving testing materials unattended of failing to keep them secure – Reading or reviewing the passages or test items before, during or after testing – Copying or reproducing any part of the passages or test items or any secure test materials or online items – Revealing or discussing passages or test items with anyone, including students and school staff, through verbal exchange, email, social media, or any other form of communication – Removing secure test materials from the school building or removing them from locked storage for any other purpose than administering test

10 Testing Irregularities and Security Breaches Testing Environment – Allowing unauthorized visitors into testing environment – Failing to follow administration directions exactly as specified in the TAM – Displaying testing aids in the testing environment during testing Test Supervision – coaching students during test: giving verbal and nonverbal cues, hinting, suggestions, paraphrasing or defining any part – Engaging in any activities that prevent proper supervision of students – Leaving students unattended – Deviating from testing time procedures – Providing unauthorized persons to access of secured materials – Failing to provide documented accommodations – Allowing student to test before or after state’s test administration window

11 Reporting Testing Irregularities and Security Breaches Incidents must be reported immediately TA completes Irregularity or Security Breach form and submits to STC immediately STC calls the LEA immediately after irregularity or breach is reported (paperwork submitted at the end of the day) LEA Test Coordinator contacts the State Contact

12 School Test Coordinator Responsibilities Before testing – Develop a security plan that aligns with LEA and PARCC policy – Authorize specific personnel to serve as TA and proctors – Keep secure assessment materials locked – Monitor the receipt and distribution of all test materials (check to see all students are logged in/off each test date) – Training TAs at faculty meeting (send training dates and agenda by Thursday, February 25, 2016)

13 School Test Coordinator Responsibilities Assign and Update User Roles (February 8, 2016) Share building test schedule and room assignments with staff and students Student registration for students enrolled after December 21, 2015 – ( in pearson go to Set-up – students – click the drop down arrow next to Start button and select All Task) Create and Manage Test Sessions (February 29- March 18) (training center link gives individual modules)

14 Materials Prohibited During All Units All personal electronic equipment not related to testing Any resources that defines, explains, illustrates terminology or concepts or otherwise provides unauthorized assistance during testing. Mathematical formulas and conversion tables other that grade- of course- specific, PARCC-provided reference sheet Poster describing TestNav functionality Any manipulative not approved through a unique accommodation request prior to testing.

15 Test Administrator Responsibilities 1. Receive training in administering test units properly and securely. 2. Administer all tests according to appropriate protocols. 3. Focus full attention on the testing environment at all times. 4. Ensure that students do not participate in any form of cheating. 5. Do not provide assistance to a student that could impact his/her answers. 6. Follow proper test security procedures for providing accessibility features or accommodations. 7. Follow Chain-of-custody requirements to return all test materials after testing.
