1 Classroom Cart Reminders 1.Make sure ALL electronics are turned off before you leave in the afternoon. That means: Amplifier, Monitor and Computer (shut down). 2.The classroom microphones need to be either plugged in or placed in the charger at the end of the day, so they will be ready for you to use the next day. 3.Friday procedure: Before you leave for the weekend, turn off the power strips in your cart. The power strips are located on the back inside wall of the cart behind the computer CPU. That turns off everything and saves energy (and prolongs the life of the equipment). 4.Also be sure to power off the TV when you leave.

2 Student Computers 1.Always check and shut down all student computers as well as turning off the monitors at the end of the day. 2.Periodically, check them for viruses and unnecessary programs and remove them. 3.Make sure the keyboards are fully functional (no missing or stuck keys). 4.And most importantly, always monitor your students if they are on the computers in your room. Remember: These are not your computers, they belong to the school and are used by many people. Treat them with caution and respect. Don’t hesitate to tell the students that.

3 Laptop Carts 1.There are only 3 laptop carts in the school. That is not a lot of laptops to go around, so take care of them. 2.Make sure the cart is plugged in so the laptops will charge. The newer carts have two plugs, so make sure they are both plugged in so all laptops will charge. 3.Always note what student has what laptop, and when they turn it back in, make sure the laptop is shut down and there is no damage to it (check the keyboard and screen to make sure nothing is missing or broken). 4.Carry them with 2 hands and not by the screen. If the laptop is open or closed, use 2 hands on the bottom of the laptop. 5.The newer carts have the charging cords coming from the middle of the cart and they are numbered to correspond with the number on the laptop. Put the laptop in it’s proper place and make sure it’s plugged in. Keep the charging cords neat and not a mess in the cart. 6.Last thing, make sure you turn in the same number of laptops you checked out!!!!

4 Teacher Laptops 1.These laptops are for you to use at home and school for school use (grades, e- mail, lessons, etc.). 2.They belong to the school system. 3.Don’t install unauthorized programs. 4.They need to be brought to school periodically so updates and diagnostics can be run on them. 5.You are responsible for them. If you break it, you bought it. 6.These laptops are not for student use. 7.The Technology Department have leased these laptops for us to use. They will need to be turned in when the lease period ends. 8.DO NOT MARK OR WRITE ON THESE LAPTOPS!! They need to be returned to Lenovo at the end of the lease.
