What I’m Doing Going through all of the raw cosmic data collected, reconstructing the runs, and building a list of high energy events.Going through all of the raw cosmic data collected, reconstructing the runs, and building a list of high energy events. Properties recorded are: highest energy observed in a cell, total energy per event, the number of events in a run, the length of the run, the type of event, any necessary cuts, and which parts of the detectors were active during the run.Properties recorded are: highest energy observed in a cell, total energy per event, the number of events in a run, the length of the run, the type of event, any necessary cuts, and which parts of the detectors were active during the run. 3 How I do it Reconstruct runs with Athena.Reconstruct runs with Athena. Look at distribution of energy across detector to find and cut malfunctioning cellsLook at distribution of energy across detector to find and cut malfunctioning cells Use ROOT to find and examine high-energy eventsUse ROOT to find and examine high-energy events Reconstruct events and view them in Atlantis for further information.Reconstruct events and view them in Atlantis for further information.

Example: Run 13118 HOT cell! Remove from further examinations by adding a cut: (PhiCellsTile>-0.3 || PhiCellsTile -0.025)

These events are all worth looking at! Over 200 GeV in a cell for one event is a big hit! Energy per Cell for every event in the Run

Total Energy per Event These are worth examining too! This is a lot of energy for one event!

Event example: 15876 1.3 TeV of total Energy Highest hit of ~470 GeV Air shower!
