4 4 Unit 3: Skills Development in the Land – based Industries Assignment Brief 1 Working with Livestock Develop your skills in the Countryside Your challenge will be to learn new skills and use them to look after and care for livestock on a working farm. Enjoy working with others finding out how to record information and learn about organisations that can help you develop your skills for working in the countryside. What you will do Farms often have a lot of animals which are called livestock. These animals need looking after. Throughout the year they need to be moved about, fed and watered and kept clean. There is also a lot of equipment that needs to be looked after. Your role will be to record tasks, work safely in a team and learn the safe use of tools and equipment. Enjoy working with others finding out how to develop your skills and improve your ability. What you will do Farms often have a lot of animals which are called livestock. These animals need care and attention every day of the year. At certain times of the year they need to be brought together to carry out specific tasks. Your role will be to work safely in a team to carry out some of those tasks.
