6 HISTORY o 2008: SNAP machines in farmers markets 4 markets providing for the following % of population 19% (Crook), 15% (Deschutes) & 29% (Jefferson) o 2010: Central Oregon Food Needs Assessment Identified barriers and opportunities and is the foundation for our current work o 2011: Food Summit Formation of the High Desert Food & Farm Alliance o 2013: Food Hub Study Development of a model and next steps o 2014: Value-chain study, wholesale support Improve the amount & quality of food in the supply chain o 2015: Risk management technical support o Business and financial support (with OSU & SBDC)
