ANIMAL WELFARE LAW Register of experiments on animals -persons who conducting the experiments -persons or entrepreneurs involve in breeding, reproduction and trade of experimental animals Decreed on approval for conduction of experiment on animals Keeping statistical records Person responsible for the protection experimental animal welfare The experiment on animals shall be conducted only by trained professional persons TAIEX 15-16. ANIMAL WELFARE LAW ETHICAL COUNCIL FOR WELFARE OF EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS 1.provides advises 2.provides expert opinions 3.participate in developing and promotion of alternative methods of performing experiments 4.submit reports on its activities Decree on establishing special working group – Ethical Council for welfare of experimental animals (No. 119-01-124/2005-09/18, 23. September 2009)

5. ANIMAL WELFARE LAW ETHICAL COMMISSION FOR WELFARE OF EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS 1.establish the manner of conducting experiments on animals in accordance with this Law 2. performs professional control over the implementation of experiments on animals 3. organize of training of persons who carry out experiments on animals 4. provide expert opinion on ethical and scientific justification of conduction of experiments to the Minister 5. submit regular and annual reports to the Minister TAIEX 15-16. ANIMAL WELFARE LAW CONDUCTION OF THE EXPERIMENT Experiments on animals can be performed for the following purposes: 1.prevention, diagnosis and treatment 2.testing drugs, substances or products 3.detection, assessment, control and change of physiological conditions of humans, animals and plants 4.environmental protection 5.scientific research 6.education and professional development 7.forensic examinations TAIEX 15-16. 8. ANIMAL WELFARE LAW CONDUCTION OF THE EXPERIMENT The experiment on animals shall not be performed for the following purposes: 1.testing of - weapons, military equipment,radiation effects - cosmetic products, and substances - chemical cleansers and disinfectants - tobacco and alcohol products - substances for the increasing muscular strength 2. experiments performed without anaesthesia 3. abandoned animals or animals from shelters 4. presentation of biological or medical rules or facts that have already been scientifically confirmed TAIEX 15-16.
