10 10 The legal framework for the establishment of an integrated environmental pollution prevention and control system will be the new Environmental Protection Act /2007/ and appropriate implementing legislation in compliance with the provisions of the IPPC Directive /2007 -2008/. IPPC Directive

14 14 INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY 1.MEPPPC has been envisaged as CA. 2.MEPPPC - Inspection Directorate has been envisaged to be in-charge for compliance monitoring. 3.Co-ordination procedure will be established with other relevant governmental authorities – MAFWM and MHSW. 4.CEA has been envisaged as the authority to be responsible for the exchange of information. 16 16 COMPLIANCE COST 1.The implementation of the IPPC Directive will represent the most significant change to current practice in the field of environment to the industry. 2.Cost assessment will be conducted on “plant-by- plant basis” 3.Resources (extra-budgetary) of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund will be used. 4.Public-private partnerships will be emphasized.
