3 Mac OS Text to Speech – Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Dictation & Speech, then click Text to Speech. – Select the “Speak selected text when the key is pressed” checkbox. By default, speaking is enabled when you press Option-Esc. To choose a different key, click Change Key, press one or more modifier keys (Command, Shift, Option, or Control) together with another key, then click OK. – To have your Mac start speaking, press the specified key. To stop the speaking, press the key again. If text is selected when you press the key, the selected text is spoken. Otherwise, available text items in the current window are spoken; for example, if Mail is the current window, an email message is read. If no text items are available, you hear a beep.

4 Voice Dictation Set up Dictation – Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Dictation & Speech. Turn on Dictation, then choose from these Dictation options: – Use Enhanced Dictation.Enhanced Dictation – Choose your language and dialect. Some languages, such as English, have multiple dialects. – Choose the keyboard shortcut you will use to signal that you're ready to start dictating. – Choose your preferred microphone from the pop-up menu below the microphone icon.

5 Use Dictation Go to a document or other text field and place the insertion point where you want your dictated text to appear. Press the keyboard shortcut for starting dictation. The default shortcut is Fn Fn (press the Fn key twice). Or choose Edit > Start Dictation. When your Mac is listening, it displays a microphone with an input meter that rises and falls as you speak. Speak the words that you want your Mac to type. Use dictation commands to add punctuation, formatting, and more.dictation commands To stop dictating, click Done below the microphone icon, or press Fn, or switch to another window. The more you use Dictation, the better it understands you. Dictation learns the characteristics of your voice and adapts to your accent.

7 Windows 7 Voice Dictation – Open Speech Recognition by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking Windows Speech Recognition. – Say "start listening" or click the Microphone button to start the listening mode. – Open the program you want to use or select the text box you want to dictate text into. – Say the text that you want dictate.

11 Rewordify www.rewordify.com Simplifies and explains difficult English words. Paste in sentences, paragraphs, whole chapters or web addresses into the yellow box at the top of the page. At the next window click on the drop down by the first column that reads Popular Commands, select All Commands. – Scroll to the Speak feature and press the Add button and then click OK. – To use – Select/ highlight the text and press the Speak icon on the Quick Access Toolbar
