JEREMY WALL, Managing Director of JPWALL Consulting Partners Mr. Jeremy Wall, Managing Director of JPWALL Consulting Partners. Jeremy is an experienced consultant & senior actuary with more than 10 years experience in consulting to insurers and reinsurers in the Asia Pacific region on M&A, Capital, DFA, RBC, Pricing, Reserving and Reinsurance Optimization assignments. He has worked in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, The Philippines, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, China and Australia. Jeremy is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (FIAA). 2. Rationale and Regulations on Mergers & Acquisitions (1:00 to 3:00pm) Why merge? ESCOBILLO, Secretary General at Association of Insurers and Reinsurers of the Developing Countries Ms. Evangeline Crisostomo-Escobillo is the current Secretary General of the Association of Insurance Supervisory Authorities of Developing Countries (AISADC) and the Association of Insurers and Reinsurers of Developing Countries (AIRDC). She was the Insurance Commissioner of the Philippines from October 2005 to August 2007 where she introduced regulatory reforms that strengthen the insurance industry. She has been a full-fledged Actuary since 1979 and became President of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines in 1992. She has a propitious experience in banking and financing for having been the President of Anchor Bank from 1996 to 2005. She completed Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Master in Public Administration (MPA) from the Harvard University in 2009. 3. Negotiating the Terms of a Merger (3:00 to 4:00pm) Profiling a successful M&A M & A’s : Philippine Insurance Industry Experience Resource Person: MS. HERMINIA S. JACINTO, President of Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific, Inc. Ms. Herminia Jacinto started her career in FGU Insurance Corporation in 1961 and moved to Universal Reinsurance Corporation in 1988 as Chief Financial Officer of the company. Her extensive training in non-life insurance and reinsurance qualified her therefore for the position of President and Chief Operating Officer of the UniversalRe to which she was appointed in January 1996. She was directly involved in the several mergers involving reinsurance companies. She completed the Advance Reinsurance Course at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in London in 1992 and took up courses on Finance, Investments, Government Regulations and Practice in the the United States, Singapore, HongKong and Manila, of course. She is currently the President of the Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific, Inc. and Director of Generali Pilipinas Insurance Company. 4. Q & A / OPEN FORUM (4:00 to 5 PM) Seminar Fees P 5, 000.00 – for IIAP Member Companies P 5, 500.00 – for all others The fee covers the cost of registration, study materials and am/pm snacks and lunch. Checks for registration fee should be payable to the Insurance Institute for Asia and the Pacific, Inc. and should be remitted on or before 10 March 2013. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to those who attended the seminar. Admission to the course will be limited to allow maximum interaction among the participants. Reservations will be given only to those who have submitted their applications and paid the corresponding seminar fee. An applicant must fully fill-out the IIAP application form, attach an ID-sized picture thereon and submit the same on or before 10 March 2013. Refund shall not be allowed after the start of the seminar.
