3 Why Would I Do This?  If you’re in a place without Wi-Fi or the Wi-Fi isn’t very good Library Church buildings (on Sundays) Corner or basement of a building Hotels Airports Outdoors

6 Concerns  Personal Hotspots use the data of the cell phone, which is usually limited to a certain amount per month (i.e. 2GB / month)  Additional battery power is used on the phone while running a Personal Hotspot  Must have cell data coverage

9 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB?  Wi-Fi Easiest to setup Uses the most battery Can be used by multiple devices at once  Bluetooth Setup is more difficult (pairing) Slowest transfer speed  USB Fastest transfer speed Restricted by USB cable

10 Wi-Fi Hotspot Setup (iPhone)  Go to Settings  Cellular  Personal Hotspot  Turn “Personal Hotspot” On  Change Password  Note the name of your phone

11 Wi-Fi Hotspot Setup (Other Device)  Open the list of available Wi-Fi access points  Select the one that matches the name of your phone  Connect & enter password
